Dear Potential Coach,

We value and appreciate our coaches and the time they have to put in.  In order to become a coach, you will need to go through the following steps:

1.        You will need to notify our registrar via e-mail at registrar@myslsoccer.org of your interest to become a coach.  Please include the following in your e-mail:

a.        Name

b.        Address

c.        Drivers license with expiration date

d.        Date of Birth

e.        Age group of the team you are interested in

f.         Picture of yourself

2.        Complete the Program Administration Registration Form .  Print and sign three copies of this form.  For your information, the following is some information about some of the fields on the form:

a.        SEASON:  Unless you know it, leave it blank.

b.        LEAGUE:  MYSL

c.        CLUB:  Either REC for Recreational or SURF for club soccer

d.        TEAM ID Number:  Unless you know it, leave it blank

3.        You will need to complete risk management (live scan).  This involves getting your fingerprints taken.  In order to do this, you will need to set up an appointment with a UPS store (phone numbers vary) or the Murrieta Police Department at 951-304-2677.  Before going to your appointment, print and sign 3 copies of the Livescan form.  For your information, the following is some information about some of the fields on the form:

a.        LEAGUE NAME:  Murrieta Youth Soccer League

b.        TEAM NAME:  Unless you know it, leave it blank.

c.        Ensure you input your e-mail address and phone numbers.

4.        Once you’ve completed each of the above steps, e-mail the registrar again at registrar@myslsoccer.org to arrange to drop off all of the above forms.

5.        Lastly, you will need to attend a coaching clinic to obtain a coaching license.  MYSL does provide this every season at no cost to you.  Alternatively, you may arrange to attend an appropriate clinic through CalSouth.  Upon receiving your e-mail in Step 1, we shall ensure you are notified of upcoming clinics via MYSL.

The following is answers to some commonly asked questions:

Q:  Is Risk Management mandatory if I am helping my child’s team?

A:  Absolutely!  Anyone working with youth MUST have Risk Management approval.  There are NO exceptions!

Q:  What is the difference between Risk Management and Live Scan?

A:  Risk Management and Live Scan are one in the same.  Risk Management is the procedure and Live Scan is the term used based on the digital imagery fingerprints that are now taken.

Q:  If I have done LiveScan through my work or other activity, does it count?

A:  Unfortunately NO.  Like all new jobs, Risk Management/Live Scan is a process that must be taken anew for each organization or job you are seeking.

Q:  If I took the Live San with MYSL in the Fall season, do I need to take it again?

A:  No, once approved, your Live Scan is good for life provided that you took it on or after the Fall 2006 season.

Q:  I think I have Live Scan approval, how can I check on that?

A:  If you think you may be approved already, you may verify this by e-mailing the registrar at registrar@myslsoccer.org.  He or she will advise you of your approval status or if new ones will need to be taken should there have been a technology issue.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to your dedication and hard work for the youth of our community.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact at info@myslsoccer.org ,
